  1. If your laser hits the ‘Laser losing zone’ first the other tower loses and you win.
  2. The intro and overview youtube video has a ‘Laser losing zone’ which is not representative of the 40mm zone that will be used in the competition.
  3. The M5 penny washer has an ID 5.2mm, OD 25mm, thickness 2mm.
  4. The mounting location can go wherever you like on the tower.
  5. We are not allowing bamboo. You can use any of the natural woods as per this link (not the ‘pseudowoods’ section!): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_woods
  6. The chain length is measured from where it connects to the inside point of the M20 washer to the base of the tower. So for small vs small in the most forward position there is a span of appx. 480mm so 2x 250mm chains can span this.
But for the worst case scenario, short vs short where the mounting points are both right at the back there is appx. 330mm shortfall gap between the chains. In this case there will be equal length added to each chain to ensure they will connect together in the minimum distance.
  7. The lowest mounting location you are allowed in the starting position is 250mm and the highest is 600mm (Same as tower height)
  8. Replace ‘ways to win’ number 4 with: If we believe the other tower has intercepted your laser beam when it should be touching the ‘Laser losing zone’ then you will win. Also, if we believe the other tower has altered the direction of their laser beam when it shouldn’t be touching the ‘Laser losing zone’ then you will win.
  9. The washer can be mounted in any orientation and any angle.
  10. We will be as careful as we can with the handling of entries, but it will need to be designed so that we can move it with our hands without any tools.
  11. There will be no setup procedure time allocation.
  12. No repairing of towers will be allowed at any stage!
